Loyalty cards for restaurants and cafés.

A restaurant loyalty card recognises customer purchases and lets customers work towards a reward. With an NFC keychain, the record lives online: the cashier adds stamps or points and customers check their balance in a browser. For a café or neighbourhood restaurant in Colombia, the key is making the rule clear before payment.

Choose stamps or points based on average spend

If most customers buy a coffee and a snack, one stamp per eligible purchase is easy to explain. When one customer orders lunch and another pays for a whole table, points based on the purchase amount may be more proportional. Review several days of receipts before choosing. In Lío, the mode is locked after the first transaction so existing balances keep their meaning.

A desirable reward you can afford

A free coffee after eight stamps is an example, not a mandatory rule. A dessert can work in a restaurant; lunch requires checking ingredient costs and margin more carefully. Start with one specific reward, stating its size, presentation and redemption terms. Calculate its cost across the purchases needed to earn it. The reward should encourage another visit without consuming the margin that keeps your business running.

At the checkout during busy periods

Practise the process before the lunch rush. The cashier signs in with their account, holds the keychain near a compatible NFC phone, checks the customer and records the purchase. In points mode, they enter the purchase amount; in stamp mode, they follow the configured rules. Confirm the result before moving to the next order. Keep the phone charged and connected to the internet, and use a quiet moment to explain enrolment.

Make the rules clear for the table

Decide whether the benefit belongs to the person paying and which purchases qualify. Explain how takeaway orders, promotions and redemptions work before launching. Avoid promising a reward that depends on an ingredient you rarely stock. Train every shift with the same explanation, so customers receive a consistent answer at breakfast and at lunch.

Review the first month using data

Check new members, stamps or points added and rewards redeemed in the dashboard. Compare these with your own sales records and reward costs; issuing many keychains does not prove that customers return more often. Ask regular customers whether the goal feels attainable. Request a Lío demo using a realistic example from your menu before placing your first order.

Frequently asked questions

Does it work for a small café?

Yes. You can start with stamps and a simple reward. You need an internet connection and a compatible NFC phone to tap the keychain.

Must the free coffee require eight stamps?

No. It is a reward idea. The owner sets the stamp or point cost based on margins and purchase frequency.

Can I use points for lunch and stamps for coffee?

The programme uses one mode: stamps or points. Choose the best fit for your purchases before the first transaction; it is locked afterwards.

Does the customer install an app to check their balance?

No. They view their balance and rewards in a browser. If they lose the keychain, their phone number lets you find their account and preserve the balance.
